The Wake Up Call album came out one year ago to this day exactly, after months of hard work and preparation. Honestly I feel like I’ve gotten so much better since this came out and I look at the music much more critically now, but I still really stand by the message and content. Putting this album out opened up a lot of doors for me and I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished. If you heard this project, what did you like about it? What didn’t you like about it? What up folks! Just wanted to let you know that I’ve just released the first single from my next project, an EP called Mood Swings. All the beats on the album were made by my good friend BIG Shawn of the underground group Bored Stiff. The album’s got a jazzy feel and is somewhat of a hip-hop tribute to the old jazz musicians. It will be released on vinyl, cassette, and digital formats, with a short theatrical film to go along with it. This is a project I wanted to do strictly for the fun and the love! I gathered instrumentlas by some of my favorite producers out there, as well as looped some songs by a couple artists I dig, got some of my fellow Bay Area emcees on the tape and knocked it out in about a month.
